The G&L MBEQ3 is an active 18V bass preamp with a volume control, a pan/blend knob, and a three-band EQ for treble, mid, and bass frequencies

It provides a \(+/-14dB\) boost or cut for each of the EQ bands and is powered by two 9-volt batteries. This preamp is often used in G&L M-series instruments, like the M2500, for its tonal versatility and ability to provide a clean, high-headroom signal. 

Key features:
- Power: 18V system running on two 9-volt batteries.
- Controls :
  > Volume: Controls the overall signal output
  > Pan/Blend: Adjusts the mix between the pickups, often from neck to bridge
  > Treble: Controls high frequencies (around \(2.5\) kHz). 
  > Middle: Controls mid-range frequencies (around \(650\) Hz). 
  > Bass: Controls low frequencies (around \(50\) Hz). 
- Equalization: Each of the three EQ bands offers a \(+/-14\) dB boost or cut with center detents. 
- Origin: It is a USA-made preamp designed for G&L's M-series basses.
